The narrow slot canyons of Antelope Canyon are photographed from within, looking upward along the sinuous sandstone walls at the moment a shaft of midday sun cuts vertically through the narrow opening above. The sandstone walls undulate in smooth organic curves, their surfaces glowing in bands of copper, amber, warm rose, and deep terracotta shadow. The single beam of light descends to the sandy floor, where it creates a bright pool of white light surrounded by the warm glow of the canyon. A few particles of dust in the light beam are visible. The whole image is warm, glowing, and otherworldly.
